They are the alternative low-cost solution for use with tubing and bioprocess containers to the existing stainless steel pressure sensors on the market. Process Scale Single Use
Pressure Sensors
- Applications include multi-stage depth filtration, TFF/crossflow filtration, and bioreactor pressure monitoring
- Available for use with tubing from
1/4 inch to 1 inch inner diameter (for luer size see below) - Unobstructed flow path & no dead legs

Hose barb design features The design features no mold parting-line where the tubing is secured, which can be a source of leaks. The single barb shaft provides space for the hose to relax behind the barb, causing the tie-wrap to work like a drawstring. A tie-wrap placed over the antirotation device designed by Eldon James Corp. will lock the tubing, preventing it from becoming loose by a twisting motion. If a more secure fitting than a tie-wrap is required for higher pressure, either a BarbLock or Oetiker Clamp can be used, and they both give an very secure 360° radial compression seal. |

*Sensors (except PRESS-S-OOO) are available with individual serial numbers and individual NIST Calibration Certificates in addition to the lot certification. Depending on the type of certification, one of the following suffixes is added to the part number: -B, -30, or -60. The certificate for -B is for the range of 0-6psi in 1 psi increments; for -30 the range is from 0-30 psi in 10 psi increments; -60 is for 0-60 psi in 10 psi increments (-60 for sensor used with PendoTECH monitoring systems only unless specified otherwise).
PendoTECH Single Use Pressure Sensors -
for Smaller Scale Processes
They are offered in polycarbonate and polysulphone and have a male/female luer lock inlet/outlet ports and come with a cap on the female luer port for dead-end applications. With the universal luer fitting, they can be adapted to processes in different manners. A couple of examples are that they can be used in-line at low flow rates (1/16 or 1/8 inch tubing) or on a 1/4 or 3/8 inch barb fitting with luer port (see photos to right).
Now available in caustic resistant Polysulphone so they can be in-line during caustic sanitization processes (SEE APPLICATION NOTE).
The polycarbonate version is available sterile for aseptic connection to a process system after a system has been autoclaved or they may be gamma sterilized with process tubing or a disposable bioreactor.
